The Poorman has been referred to as a "dessert" gooseberry.

This perennial is an easy-to-grow producer of 3/4 inch pink fruits.  Self-pollinating.
Prefers partial to full sun and rich soil in a well-drained location. 5 ft wide and 3 ft tall.
Deer resistant; the leaves contain hydrogen cyanide and should not be consumed.
