This hardy plant blooms prolifically in early spring and returns to dormancy when hot weather sets in.  Tubers of mature plants divide easily for propagation.

 

This perennial grows best in the shade and likes to be kept moist but not soggy.  Loves to be mulched.  Grows 2 to 3 feet tall and wide.
